VMS
- Video Management System
A comprehensive video managment &
distribution system
designed specifically for airborne surveillance
aircraft with multiple displays and connected
to role equipment such as ANPR, stabilised
multi-camera turrets, moving maps, radar,
video recorders, microwave uplink and downlink
and other specialist mission computers.

VMS features
In a typical aircraft all role equipment
is routed to the VMS. This includes multiple
inputs from on board cameras such as FLIR &
Wescam - where possible we take live video
feeds from all the cameras in the turret (thermal,
low light, spotter, daylight colour camera,
image fusion etc.). In addition the video recorder/s,
moving map/s, microwave uplinks/downlinks and
other special mission computers such as ANPR
are routed to the VMS.
Each display is then connected
to the VMS via a single multi-core cable. Once
connected any display can acll up any signal/image
at any time.
For example, the moving map can be displayed
and controlled via the display touch screen.
The ANPR computer can be left in a docking station
in a remote location on the aircraft whilst any
display can select to view the computer screen
and control the computer via the touch screen.
Multiple video windows can
be invoked on each display and images controlled
via touch screen or hard keys.
